Ben Morgan-Cleveland

SEPTEMBER 28 - OCTOBER 27, 2013
    • The Men in Gray Suits

Aluminum shells glide into felted neoprene.
      An economy of echoes.
      Airborne. Crystalline.
      Flits over the cobblestone underlayment.
Vestigial teeth of a lost twin,
      revealed by an abscess,
in a pelt of the bitumen,
worn raw by a tide of nights' labors,
      molts endlessly into the dark.

For his previous exhibition, Salvation Armani, Ben Morgan-Cleveland turned Real Fine Arts into a camera obscura, projecting the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway into the gallery. A concurrent off-site exhibition at Ft. Tilden Beach, Queens, NY, took place within a rudimentary gallery space made of 2x4 posts with a white mesh ceiling stretched over top. For this exhibition at Eli Ping, which sits 10 feet below street level, there will be no beach, no sun.
